Daily Prompt: Back to School

Back to School

If you could take a break from your life and go back to school to master a subject, what would it be?

I am currently in school and the subject I would like to master is computer science. The interesting thing about computer science is that once I graduate from college almost everything I learn will become obsolete. We live in the era of computers and everything is constantly becoming more complex. Eventually everything we do will be automated and run by computers allowing people to have more leisure time. This may be a good or bad thing. As technology advances the need for manual labor is in less demand. What can be done with several humans can be replaced by a simple machine. The cost of the machine will be one time and all you need to do is construct the software to perform a specific task while the cost of manual labor will come out of your pocket by the hour. Business people will take advantage of using computers instead of humans. This turn in events will cause problems to arise in the future if people can not find adequate jobs to their skill set.

***Mastery: n. 1) Comprehensive knowledge or skill in a subject or accomplishment. 2) The action or process of mastering a subject or accomplishment.
